Twitter – Worth the Gamble?

Saturday 5th April and eagerly awaiting the broadcasting of the Grand National in Aintree, Liverpool. I sat in home Malaysia esports betting and odds what I should splash my hard-won no 5 pocket money on. With the biggest race day of the season, little idea of the form book and five whole English sterling to delve to the most inventively named horse I chose to log onto Twitter to see what everyone else was speaking about.

At 11.00am, all was relatively quiet on the front. A few cries of Butler’s Cabin and also a couple of similarly honored favorites, so I held my cards near my chest and opted to attend. Re-visiting in 1.00pm was a very different narrative, twitter was rife with speculation, stories of previous successes and despite the continuing downturn, the capacity to land a sum of cash that could possibly struggle to get you a 3 course meal in Manchester demonstrated the ideal release for most.

Straight back in my own question and a number of amounts, the Tories recently maintained nearly a quarter of a million more individuals were gaming online this past year, in comparison to 2007 when advertisements has been granted for the very first time. With this particular extreme rise in traffic to such web sites on the web, the big players ought to be over the web on days such as this. Surely.

In the aftermath of disappointment, [I picked 13th place] I took a closer look in book maker presence on Twitter, to see the real winner from the most important horse race of this season, to my puzzlement.

Bookies on Twitter

William Hill: 150 [News and wireless reports ]

Paddy Power: 254 followers [Seems as the official site with branding and logos. There is also another spread betting traders after with 350+ followers]

Totesport: No indication of an accounts

With twitter, I am really much one for quality of updates, not number of fans, but looking at previous upgrades of their above accounts, also it did not paint an image of an industry targeting all of the perfect channels.

Therefore, would Twitter have already been worth the gamble for 2009? Potentially and enjoy the major race it seems the lesser known costume capitalized. The affiliate market on the market still had the dynamisms to produce themselves a little cash from home, whilst sitting toasting their victory with a John Smith’s or two.

Let us see for 2010 whether the huge names can seem winners, like our friend Mr McCoy.
